Non-invasive Smart Vehicle Fault Insertion
Innovative Technologies in Education (ITE)
Probably the most revolutionary classroom training tool available
today!
Imagine having the ability to actually insert real faults into
the vehicle of your choice. Then, imagine capturing your student's
data into a management system that tracks every step of their analysis.
The Smart Vehicle bridges classroom theory and laboratory simulations
with real-world applications on live vehicles. Installed in a working
vehicle, the computer controlled fault insertion programme allows
the instructor to insert faults into the vehicle from a teacher
workstation. Students then apply their knowledge of vehicle systems
and their knowledge of electronics to correctly identify symptoms
and diagnose actual faults. The software presents students with
real-life, hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing these
faults. It is designed to develop a logical and efficient approach
to troubleshooting an automotive electronic system. Through hands-on
practice in diagnostic procedures, students sharpen their problem-solving
skills. This training proves invaluable in the workforce and serves
as the foundation for the student's future technological skills.
Individuals who complete the required courses and begin to practice
their chosen trade are more efficient in their approach to solving
vehicle problems. Any petrol and diesel model vehicle can be customised
to serve the lab's needs. The entire CML (Computer Managed Laboratory)
network can be linked up to a real vehicle. Fault-insertion Capability
in the following electronic systems on any make and model vehicle:
Powertrain Control Modules, including: emissions, ignition, transmission,
cooling fan control, AC control, and fuel delivery
Climate Control
Antilock Brake Systems
Instrument Panels
Traction Control Systems
Body Control Models
Training students in proper diagnostic procedure translates into
efficient, skilled technicians able to meet certification standards
and, ultimately, to generate revenue for the shop or dealership.
Part of training students in appropriate diagnostic procedure also
includes preparing them to use the "tools of the trade."
ITE's Custom Programmed Software provides practice in the use of
a:
Scan Tool
Electronic Break-out Box (EBOB) for pinpoint testing
Oscilloscope
Multimeter
Compression tester
Petrol/fuel injection pressure tester
