This system guides students through schematic reading, experiments,
and troubleshooting of diesel truck systems. The electrical system
includes fuses, connectors, switches, indicators and lights. Logical
troubleshooting techniques guide a student through the diagnostic
process.
Simulator panel components include:
Built-in digital multimeter
Ignition switch
12 volt test light
Turn signal switch
Continuity tester
Gear switch
Battery and connectors
Brake pedal and parking brake
CB/relay panel
Customer complaint panel
Head, turning, backup parking, clearance and dome lights
Door lamp assembly and door open
Students gain experience through experiments in electrical circuits
to include series, parallel, and combination, as well as twenty-five
instructor-inserted faults in troubleshooting opens, shorts, grounds,
and high resistance.
Experiments and troubleshooting include:
Understanding electrical circuits, components and schematic symbols
Detection and repair of head lamps, parking lamps, and clearance
lamps malfunctions
Operation and function of diesel truck wiring harness
Detection and repair of stop lamp, back-up lamp, and wiper malfunctions
Detection and repair of horn, turn light, cabin light malfunctions
