Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration
Innovative Technologies in Education (ITE)
The systems infrastructure consists of a compact, modular desktop
unit, which works together with powerful and interactive software
(courseware, operation and simulation) packages. The system is supplied
with two software packages; one for system operation and one for
the Courseware.
The system features a software package that operates and controls
the laboratory system. It includes a graphic and friendly Man Machine
Interface. This software supplies complete "On screen and On
line Parameters information". The Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
training system is operated manually or automatically and includes
an identification feature, in order to prevent a module mismatch
command to the module. The operation package includes safety devices
to identify an illegal user command the software system will not
accept the command or will direct the user too the correct procedure.
The laboratory includes a Computer Aided Instruction (CAI) courseware
package for Advanced Air Conditioning. It complements and supplements
the training package, and enables realistic on-screen simulations
of Basic Refrigeration components and circuits. The courseware includes
main formulas, equations and data bank with easy access in order
to refresh the student's knowledge. The system supports zoom and
other graphics tools in order to work with a calculator, diagrams
and graphs etc.
The courseware package uses a simulator package as a design aid
and as an explanatory tool. The simulation is similar to the hardware
system. It uses a friendly graphic interface and permits the student
to change each one of the main device parameters. The simulation
then shows the student the outcome of the selected parameter settings.
